Murtazin himself states it clearly that it's a rumor but he calls the sources real. Sony Ericsson has purportedly talked to companies like Siemens and BenQ for what appears to be the future of Sony Ericsson, as in selling. Sony Ericsson is a joint venture established on October 1, 2001 by the Japanese consumer electronics company Sony Corporation and the Swedish telecommunications company Ericsson.
Despite first quarter results for Sony Ericsson are testifying for a growth -- with a net income close to $16 million, sales have dropped considerably -- by roughly 20%. The company made bold statements about its target to dominate the US market with a total of nine Android smartphones this year and its current line-up is a great one. Totally up to you to even consider the rumor but we're curious of your thoughts.
Update: Like Andrew points it out in the comments below (thanks), Siemens and BenQ are probably not the buyers. Siemens sold its mobile division in 2005 to BenQ and most probably, on a similar note, Sony Ericsson is looking to allegedly sell its own mobile division to some Chinese company.
